Paris, July 18, 2008 – In an astute political move, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and other 42 Euro-Med leaders gathered in Paris to launched the Union for the Mediterranean in the Grand Palais and a day later attended a Bastille Day march-past down the Champs-Elysées, certainly the finest parade in Europe.

Under the leadership of Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, Morocco, and the Euro-Med countries confirmed their openness and keenness to discuss and explore the development of economy that works for everyone and to build a common future for all Euro-Mediterranean counties based on the principles of mutual respect.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, who serves as Morocco's top diplomat, keeps country’s alliances healthy, pursuing Morocco's interests abroad through the constant development of a complex array of interests and goals.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid’s creative, analytic, and visionary inventiveness has energized solidarity and tightened the bonds between the 27 members of the European Union and the states bordering the Mediterranean sea in order to carry out concrete projects that consolidate the ability of the most vulnerable Mediterranean countries to address comprehensive approach to sustainable development.

Creating a compelling sense of direction for Moroccan people, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid has explored the many possibilities of making significant positive changes to power sustainable development, constructive dialogue, and solidarity-based partnership.

According to Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, the dialogue has become an important and efficient international opportunity tool, which includes creation of the Union for the Mediterranean as continuation of Euro-Mediterranean dialogue, with organization’s new tasks like struggle against illegal immigration and environmental pollution.

The Mediteranean union is one of the ways to help the unity of the north african countries (The Maghreb or what was called Morocco in the past).

Peace between Europe and North Africa is only acheived if North African countries stop looking for conflicts in order to destroy the neighbor. It just makes the whole groupe weaker.
