Glance on HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid’s course of emancipation pilot project

Rabat, June 26, 2008 – With a need for effective intervention to increase women’s involvement in Moroccan social life, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, an human rights activist at grassroots to global levels, has played a significant role in reaching out to the community to foster women’s participation in mainstream and community, and increase women involvement in politic and public positions to raise life quality.

On May 26th, 2006, the Scouting day in Morocco, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the National Federation of Moroccan Scouting, launched the pilot projects aiming to increase women’s involvement in Moroccan social life.

Pioneering program encourages the emancipation of women and girls, and highlights the role of women within the Movement.

Within this project, the Scouting organization under the leadership of Crown Prince Moulay Rachid organizes meetings and chair debates on social issues and current events. In doing so, they emphasize women's contribution to the development of society. By reflecting and learning to be independent and to take on responsibilities within the Movement, Moroccan Girl Scouts are contributing to the emancipation of women in their country.

It has been successfully running project that increases women’s access to and participation in decision-making positions and enhances women's capacity to participate in leadership.

Women in Morocco need to take their education more seriously. They certainly need to have more schools in womenly oriented carrees like : interior design, marketing design ,fashion marketing design, teaching, psychology... Marriage and children are not the only solutions to be active in society. Marriage is good, children are wonderfull, they can certainly be completed with a well educated wise mother.
