Fes, May 12, 2009 - To confront Morocco’s energy challenges, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid chaired on Tuesday May 12th 2009 a signing ceremony for the power plant expansion in Fes.

Stressing the social and economic impact of the project, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid underlined that the reliable and affordable energy is essential to building Morocco’s healthy economy, reminding, the power of energy drives global economic development.

With clear believes that the availability of reliable and affordable energy is critical to sustained economic growth, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid warned that energy shortages is a result of high prices, slow economic growth and adversely affects people's quality of life.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid hopes if the project goes as to plan, the plant will produce and deliver electricity to people, cutting number of Moroccan people who still don't have access to electricity.
