HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid brings renewed hope of peace to Arab Summit

Damascus, March 29, 2008 - Acknowledging the important role of the 20th Arab summit conference in boosting the peace process, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid reaffirmed His support of all efforts by Arab and international parties to implement the road map, to pave the way for a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Taking part in a closed-door session Saturday at the Arab summit in Syria, His Royal Highness affirmed the importance of the summit and contribution to the activation of joint Arab action and solidarity to confront the great challenges facing the Arab nations.

His Royal Highness seized the chance of the current summit to greet the leaders participating in the Arab summit and voiced hope and confidence that the summit will reach realistic resolutions and proposals, particularly in contribution to boost the march of joint Arab action and help maintain peace and stability in the region and the whole world, whatever challenges facing the nation.

His Royal Highness unyielding His total commitment to a comprehensive peace process gave an eloquent personal perspective as He renewed call for active engagement in Middle East peace.

Syria welcomed His Royal Highness’ presence at the 20th Arab summit and hailed His wise policy and achievements to improve Arab-Arab relations to develop and reinforce common Arab action, which had proven its success and had become a model worth emulating.

During the session, topics tabled on the agenda of the summit focus a great part on the situation in the Arab region, especially in the Palestinian territories and Iraq, besides stressing the vital importance of implementing the roadmap for peace as a key step towards reviving the Middle East peace process.
